A third generation family owned and operated business, Vernon Edwards continues to hold the same principals that our company was founded on; honesty, integrity, and professionalism. Our effective leadership, innovative and tech savvy approach to building, and efficient teamwork has sustained us throughout our many years of service and has fostered many long lasting professional relationships on the central coast. During the last 25 years of business, Vernon Edwards has focused primarily on large and small-scale public school construction projects and private commercial office, winery, and restaurant facilities.

Todd Edwards

President / Project Executive

As President, Todd oversees the day-to-day operations of the company. A licensed General Contractor, General Engineer and second generation builder, he has been involved intimately with every project built by the company since incorporation in 1985. Todd is involved in project estimating, planning, and constructability, among the numerous other pre-construction services VernonEdwards has to offer to its clients. His experience in large and small-scale public works and private commercial construction is invaluable to any client and his expertise is often sought after by individuals within the construction and design industry. Todd continues to be a model example to his employees and stresses the importance of the company core values in all business proceedings.

Ryan Edwards

Vice-President / Director of Field Operations

Ryan is a third generation owner of Vernon Edwards and has been working in the construction industry for over 10 years. Due to his experience with many different types of projects, Ryan possesses a very unique skill set and understanding of construction means and methods, which lends itself to his successful management of the company field operations and the support of multiple superintendents working in the field. His expansive understanding of management software and technology has streamlined how projects are run, which has aided in the efficient and effective management of multiple large-scaleprojects. With smaller staffing and support requirements, projects can be completed successfully at lower costs to the client. Ryan is a Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Storm Water Inspector and is also OSHA certified. His expertise and attitude are valuable assets to any project.

Brad Edwards

Vice–President / Estimator

Brad possesses many years of experience in estimating and project coordination. He has estimated and developed budgets for many different types of projects, from small renovations and tenant improvements, to large-scale public and private commercial construction projects. Having worked as a journeyman carpenter for many years, Brad possesses a very unique skill set and understanding of construction means and methods, which lends itself to his successful and accurate project estimating and bidding. He is proficient in many different types of estimating software, which provides Vernon Edwards a competitive edge when performing takeoffs and bidding large complex projects with multiple trades and coordination issues. Brad's large breadth of experience and his long time involvement in the construction industry has made him an invaluable member to the project team.

Kari Edwards

Director of Operations

Kari has been working in construction administration and operations for over 8 years. She is involved with every project from bidding to project startup. Kari also supports the estimating department during bid times, managing the bidding timeline, submittal of subcontractor bids, record, and results. She is accustomed to collaborating with both Project Superintendents and Managers on a daily basis. Her meticulous attention to detail and ability to accurately maintain project documentation is unprecedented. This assures all of our clients current and reliable project data updates and appraisals. Kari keeps a pulse on the everyday proceedings of the company and her support has proven to be invaluable to every staff member here at Vernon Edwards.

Tyler Benson, LEED AP

Project Manager

Tyler is a Cal Poly graduate with degrees in Architecture and Construction Management and is also an accredited professional with the US Green Building Council LEED program. He values sustainability practices and high efficiencies within the construction industry. A community leader, highly self motivated and driven, he has a successful 7-year track record of the successful management of numerous types of large scale public and private construction projects. He is accustomed to working with many different kinds of individuals from various disciplines and backgrounds, including general contractors, architects, engineers, and inspectors. His resourcefulness and attitude complement his relentless drive to accomplish all goals at hand. His diplomat and tactful interaction with all members of the project team has proven to be invaluable to any project.

Justin Boe, CESSWI

Project Superintendent

Justin has a proven track record of completing difficult projects on schedule with tight budget constraints. He possesses excellent interpersonal skills, a professional attitude, and firm personality, which enables him to successfully manage projects independently or as a team member. Hardworking, conscientious, and an intelligent construction worker, Justin is able to effectively communicate with subcontractors, contractors, and clients. Justin has an in-depth knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, and the tools involved in the construction of diverse buildings and facilities. He is familiar with budgeting, cost management, engineering and architectural technologies, and is also proficient in numerous scheduling and estimating program applications. Justin is a first rate superintendent and enjoyable to work with on all levels.

Santa Maria, CA

Construction of a new steak house, consisting of a new working kitchen, specialized equipment, bar, lounge, & dining area, and an immense amount of architectural woodwork and craft.

Orion Professional Center

Santa Maria, CA

This project consisted of a major tenant improvement for a doctor's office. This office consisted of waiting room, examination rooms, private offices, and reception area.

Discovery Children's Museum

Santa Maria, CA

Massive renovation of a warehouse building into a Children's Discovery Museum, complete with play structures, learning equipment, and a shark tank. The facility was completed on a tight budget.

Community Cornerstone Headquarters

Santa Maria, CA

This project consisted of the complete renovation and tenant improvement of a historic Coca-Cola building in Santa Maria. The new offices are being used by a local non-profit entity.

Pallet Manufacturing Building

Santa Maria, CA

Construction of a new metal building to house pallet manufacturing equipment, offices and loading area. Also included was the complete development of the site & parking lot area.

Santa Maria Court Clerks Building

Santa Maria, CA

This project we recently completed and consisted of a two-story new construction administration building for the Santa Barbara County court system. This was a large building constructed within a confined area with high end finishes and electrical systems

Arroyo Grande High School Agriculture Science Facility

Arroyo Grande, CA

This project is currently under construction and consists of two new masonry buildings to house vocational arts classrooms, and involves extensive site work and utilities. It is part of a larger vocational and agricultural arts program that also includes the modernization of two existing buildings.

Arroyo Grande High School Tennis Courts

Arroyo Grande, CA

This project consisted of new construction & renovation of a high school. The boys locker room required major overhaul and it was completed prior to the construction of 6 new tennis courts.

SMAT Bus Transit Center

Santa Maria, CA

New construction of a bus transit center. The project includes a play area for children, a snack bar, and covered seating areas. Also included were 2 acres of concrete turn around and driveways.

San Miguel Fire Station

San Miguel, CA

This project consisted of the construction of a new fire station facility to service the City of San Miguel. The structure was a metal building with three (3) large fire engine bays and office space.

Cal Poly Sports Complex

San Luis Obispo, CA

This project was part of a new sports complex development at the Cal Poly campus in San Luis Obispo. It consisted of structures for two (2) baseball stadiums, which are being used today by the college teams.

Cal Poly Campus Market

San Luis Obispo, CA

Project consisted of a new campus market for student use. It services staff and students on the west side of Cal Poly and has a deli facility, store, check out counters, eating area, and tables.

Santa Maria Fair Park Administrative Offices

Santa Maria, CA

Construction of a new 4,500 sq. ft. administration building to replace an outdated building. The occupants were re-located to a temporary facility during the construction.

Delta High School

Santa Maria, CA

The Delta High School Project consisted of extensive demolition, site work, and the construction of a new educational campus. The project resulted in another satisfied Owner.

Morro Bay State Park Restroom Facilities

Morro Bay, CA

The Morro Bay State Park Project consisted of a facility enhancement and site work improvements, including a new restroom, campground, and museum building.

Clendenen-Lindquist Vintners

Santa Maria, CA

The Clendenen-Lindquist Vintners project consisted of a large crush pad and facility, which increased overall crush and barrel storage capacity and created an long lasting working relationship with the Owner.

Jackson Family Wines, LLC

Los Alamos, CA

The Jackson Family Wines Project consisted of an addition for the family to their established and operational winery and crush facility. A trusted & loyal working relationship was created with the Owner.

Costa De Oro Wine Shop

Santa Maria, CA

Construction of a wine tasting room and new building for a private owner. Building included office, outdoor eating area, and architectural woodworking. It also included a drive thru strawberry station.
